ANXIETY
'I
now feel calm going into work instead of a feeling of
dread.’
A client who was bullied by her boss.
ANXIETY WHEN DRIVING
Two sessions with Margaret have made a huge difference to my life. I was getting anxiety attacks when I had to drive somewhere and, when driving, I was anxious and rushed things.
After seeing Margaret for the first time, when driving I was instantly more relaxed and even had the car radio on, to my husband’s astonishment! The second session helped me further.
Margaret’s help has not only affected my driving, but my day-to-day wellbeing too. I am more relaxed and use the techniques she taught me to stay that way, which you need with two small children.
Thank you, Margaret.

ASSERTIVENESS & INTERVIEW CONFIDENCE
I found Margaret on the web at a time when I was low and at the edge of confidence. Upon my initial phone call, I felt trust and a belief that this woman would give it her all to help me combat my demons.
My initial thoughts proved right. With our first meeting I felt at ease and relaxed, as if I was sitting talking to a friend.
I had two sessions for different reasons and, after each session, I came out believing in myself totally. I became stronger, more confident and able to handle the difficult times in a thoroughly different way.
Believe me, I am the biggest sceptic out there in all things but Margaret has completely and truly converted me.
She has enabled my inner strength to come out and be seen. I have managed to obtain a fantastic job with her guidance and the ‘me’ that was always hidden is free and loving life to the full.
I owe it all to Margaret’s sessions and her ability to set me free to become the person I always knew was there inside me.

BLUSHING

'When my teacher told me to stand up and tell the class what was so important, I didn’t blush, I smiled and felt my friends were laughing with me, not at me.’
11 year old no longer blushing.
DEPRESSION
I contacted Margaret Walsh for help, after seeing her ad in RH10 Uncovered magazine, as I had been diagnosed with depression five weeks previously and was on medication. My life felt pretty rubbish at that time and I didn’t like myself. There had been a lot of family problems over the years and some older family members were greatly dependent on me. As a result, my relationship with my beautiful wife was affected and I had a deep fear that she would look at someone else.
As a perfectionist, I was crucifying myself with negative thoughts and I felt weighed down with fear and frustration. After talking things over with Margaret, I realised I wanted to feel more confident, especially with my wife on an intimate basis, and to show my feelings, to get my spontaneity back. I wanted to get rid of negative thoughts and get back to the person I used to be.
After the first session, I felt a little better in myself and more confident. I was being easier on myself and feeling more relaxed. However, I was up and down. Gradually, with more sessions, I was having more good days than bad, my wife noticed that things were better and my sleep had improved. I allowed older family members to be more responsible for themselves and, in my mind, I took a step back from that situation.
DRINK LESS WINE
Just wanted to update you on my progress.... I am amazed that, after just a couple of sessions that I do not have the ‘craving’ for wine as I did before Hypnotherapy. I still like to have the odd glass of wine, especially after a meal, but do not crave it every evening.
I will not hesitate to contact you in future should I have any other issues I feel Hypnotherapy would be of help with.
Thank you

FEAR OF CHOKING
After hitting the buffers earlier this year due to stress, I had a panic attack and developed a fear of swallowing food, etc. after choking on dried apricot. I went from taking for granted the habit of eating and drinking to fearing meal times. I ventured down all avenues for a cure but didn’t break the fear in my mind that haunted me at every meal.
My mother-in-law then cut out an article and advert on hypnotherapy from the RH10 magazine. Having exhausted what I thought were all avenues, I decided to call Margaret to discuss what hypnotherapy could do for me. I was reassured straight away by Margaret and, even after the first session, I felt that I had turned the corner! It was like somebody had clicked a switch. From that point onwards, I knew that I was well on the way to a full recovery.
I now take every day as it comes and still the use the techniques taught to control my feelings. I have now made a full recovery and can comfortably manage my stress levels.
It’s only when you lose a basic function that you take for granted, that you realise how precious life can be.
Thank you so much, Margaret, for giving me back control of my life.
Best wishes

FEAR OF LOVED ONES DYING
Margaret, thank you for two wonderful sessions.
Due to loss of close family members, my life was consumed with worry about those close to me dying and feeling that I wouldn’t be able to cope when they did. Consequently, to stop myself having to time to think, and therefore worry, I went overboard with housework, laundry and other insignificant things, causing anxiety, stress and annoyance when it was all out of my control.
My worries even took over my sleep pattern and I became very stressed and tired, which made everything so much worse.
I can now sleep through the night and housework is the last thing on my mind day in, day out. I also want to spend time enjoying the people around me that I love and care about instead of worrying precious time away, wondering how I might cope when they die.
My partner is so impressed he now wants to have a session to quit smoking after nearly 16 years of being nicotine dependent!
Thank you and kind regards
Tammy

FEAR OF THE DENTIST
From 37 years, to 4 days, to 3 sessions, to a few hours.
Many thanks to you for your calming, compassionate approach to my fear of the dentist which I had experienced for 37-ish years. I would always have a torrid 4 days lead-up to the appointment. After 3 sessions with you this period has reduced from an irrational level down to a very manageable 2 or 3 hours.
I felt able to share my feelings about this situation, past and present, with you. Although my thoughts and questions came from nowhere, you were extremely patient and receptive to my zig-zagging thoughts and put them into a logical order.
Your calm approach helped me greatly with the relaxation part of the session. This enabled me to take control of my thoughts, calm them down and view them from a realistic standpoint.
I am immensely grateful for the ‘taglines’ that I find useful when I need to view a difficult situation very quickly. Your observation of the parallels in my life currently, including exciting things, was very helpful. You have helped me pull into focus more than just the dentist situation.
As far as the dentist is concerned, I feel confident that my next visit will be controlled, calm and rational.
Many thanks for your patience and empathetic approach to our sessions.

FEAR OF FLYING
Dear Margaret
Thank you for helping me with my fear of flying and my anxiety around not
being in control. Since my hypnotherapy session with you I have now
boarded an aircraft and have not had any anxiety or panic attacks.
I must admit I was sceptical about how hypnotherapy could help me,
however now I would not hesitate to recommend you and your hypnotherapy
sessions to anyone who thinks they may need help.
As promised, you contacted me a few days after the session to check that everything was okay, which I found most reassuring.
Many thanks
Dave
FEAR OF FLYING (2)
Dear Margaret
I would like to thank you very much for helping me overcome my fear of flying. Although I had flown in the last 10 years, it was always a real problem and tended to really affect me before, during and after my holidays.
You helped me to establish where the problem came from and made me feel comfortable about talking through it. Having had just one session with you and then flying off on my honeymoon for an 11 hour flight, I have never felt better and more relaxed on a plane.
However sceptical I was before, I would be the first to recommend hypnotherapy now. It’s really changed me and the easy techniques you suggested also worked a treat. I will certainly be flying much more now.
Thank you so much again.

FEAR OF FLYING (3)
I have had a fear of flying for many years, although, over the years, I have continued to fly short haul. The whole experience before the flight, during the flight and landing made me extremely anxious.
My fear of flying was becoming a real problem for me – not just holidays but within my personal life as I frequently needed to travel abroad.
After a recommendation, I therefore decided to try hypnotherapy.
So many thanks to you Margaret. After just one session it has made a huge difference to me. After recently flying for 21 hours there was no anxiety, I felt instantly more relaxed and can even say that the whole experience was quite pleasant.
I am now looking forward to my next long haul flight as it will be taking me to places in the world I have yet to see.
However unsure I was beforehand, I would not hesitate to recommend your sessions and techniques to anyone needing help to overcome their fears of flying.

MOTIVATION
‘Dear Margaret
I want to thank you so much for the session you gave me to help me feel more motivated. I feel the session far exceeded my expectations and I even came away feeling totally refreshed and more confident as a person, as well as in my abilities.
In the weeks since I saw you, my motivation levels have soared and now I don’t seem to find enough time in one day to get it all done!!
Great!
I felt completely at ease throughout our session, you are a true professional and I will recommend you highly.
Thank you.

NAILBITING

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER
Dear Margaret
As I continue to progress from depression and the state of anxiety in which I found myself back in December 2009, I thought I would let you, and possibly some of your prospective clients to come, know that I am truly grateful and very deeply impressed by the care and attention you gave me in our two sessions and then telephoning to see how I was progressing after that.
As you are very well aware, a lot of my problem was based on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder suffered many years ago and never quite treated properly by any psychiatrist, psychologist or other Mental Health professional, both in and out of the military.
However, with just one intense, but amazing, session under your care, concentrating on my problems arising from that Gulf War experience, I immediately felt a lifted man, freed at last from the anchor of those terrifying times.
I would recommend Hypnotherapy under your intuitive and gentle care to anyone for anything they may be having problems with, because my life, I feel, almost has a feel of beginning again and I feel safe in the mindset I now enjoy courtesy of your dedication and professional care.
Very Best Wishes to you,
My deep gratitude,
Tim Clamp
PUBLIC SPEAKING
I came to Margaret for help with public speaking. It has become a large part of my new job and was the one aspect of taking this new job that bothered me. I was highly sceptical of hypnotherapy but decided to give it a try as I was particularly worried about my first ‘speech’.
During my session with Margaret, she talked to me about my concerns and what I would like to achieve. I was made to feel very much at ease with her but was genuinely shocked at just how relaxed I felt as the session ended.
The next day was the day of my first speech and I felt calm and confident before, and during, the talk. I have now spoken many times and do not see it as an ordeal. In fact, on occasions, I have looked forward to it.
Of course, I can only speak for myself but I highly recommend Margaret and am grateful for her help.

QUALITY OF LIFE
I was a 20 a day smoker for 15 years and I needed to give up because my health was a major concern for several reasons. I suffer from a severe spinal problem so I was in constant pain and had difficulty walking and moving. Doing the least little thing made me out of breath, hot and exhausted and I wasn’t doing much with my life. I was bored and lethargic.
Every night was a struggle for me to get to sleep with the ache in my back worsening to a sharp, knife-like pain. My sleep was disrupted every night and I felt exhausted and groggy in the mornings.
I contacted Margaret Walsh to give up smoking and felt at ease straight away. It was a pleasure meeting one of the most thoughtful and kindest ladies while receiving help at the same time.
Now, I’m a non-smoker and I have more energy, feel a lot fitter and more flexible. I’ve got much more get up and go and, because I’m mentally and physically active and capable of doing a lot more, I’ve gone from doing nothing to doing quite a lot. I’m even working, which I wouldn’t have dreamt of before.
My sleep is not disrupted at all now. I’m in bed at ten every night and up at seven, sleeping all the way through.
Because food tastes better, I look forward to meals and I'm doing the cooking after work! And, the money I save is spent on doing things with my family.
Thank you, Margaret, for helping me through a very rough time in my life. It’s really made a difference to me.

QUIT SMOKING
'I
was a smoker for 29 years and, after just one session,
I am now a non-smoker. All of my friends and colleagues
can’t believe it as they thought I was the last
person who could give up.’

QUIT SMOKING (2)
Having been to see Margaret at the beginning of the year to help me overcome fear of flying, I was so impressed with the results that I thought it time to try and give up smoking again. Having tried three times before with patches and willpower and failed each time after doing well for a little while, I thought I would try it out with hypnotherapy and I am so pleased that I did.
I’m now 10 weeks down the line and still going strong. I am so impressed with how it worked that I’m recommending this way to my brothers and friends in full confidence that it will work for them too.
My brother has since been, and a friend of mine, and both are now non smokers too.
Not just for smoking, I would recommend Margaret’s methods to help with a lot of fears and weaknesses that may just be a little too hard to deal with on our own. I am very impressed and owe Margaret a lot.
Thanks again, Margaret

STRESS
‘On
the morning of the hearing I awoke feeling refreshed,
calm and confident.
When I attended, it was not with a feeling of trepidation but of assertiveness, calmness and a determination to fight my corner. I am pleased to say I conducted myself in a calm, dignified and totally professional manner. I do not believe this would have been the case had it not been for our wonderfully effective session.
Whatever the outcome of the grievance process, I really can't thank you enough. I know with certainty that, had it not been for your help, I would have been a gibbering wreck.
I would definitely recommend you to anyone who felt they could benefit from hypnotherapy.
Kind regards and many thanks,
Lorretta, Crawley.
SUGAR CRAVINGS
Thank you, Margaret, for helping me with a lot more than I had in mind!
My wish to stop craving sugar has been granted but, more importantly, following our sessions I have got out of my rut and got going again. My motivation has returned and I have found that all the jobs and activities I had put off for so long have now been tackled and actually enjoyed.
Your relaxed and friendly approach made me feel that I was very much in safe hands. I can’t believe the difference it has made to my life in only a few weeks.
Maria, Crawley.
TAKING CONTROL
After years of handing my personal power away to people I had allowed to control my life, by influencing my thoughts and actions, I decided to take the control back and discover my authentic self.
I had tried several different types of therapy, which had gone some way towards helping me gain strength, but I needed something more. I needed to change the way I thought at a deeper, instinctive level, to change familiar responses and patterns of behaviour and to learn strategies for dealing with moments of weakness – when they inevitably present themselves during times of stress.
Hypnotherapy has been the key to my personal growth. I now have the tools for dealing with those moments and feel empowered. The answers were within me all the time. I am free of the ‘backpack full of guilt’ I had been carrying around for years. I discovered it wasn’t even mine! These days I travel light!

TOILET PROXIMITY
Dear Margaret,
I cannot get over what an improvement you achieved for me in just one visit.
I am now no longer getting concerned when I am out of reach of a loo! So long as the natural needs of the day have been satisfied, I can go out shopping, walking and travelling with much more confidence.
Getting back to being able to do ‘ordinary’ things without having to plan a route including the loos is a blessing!
Based on my experience, I can certainly recommend that a talk to you would be worthwhile for anyone else with similar issues.
Many thanks for your help.

WEIGHT ISSUES
I’m surprised that I’ve not eaten and not wanted cheese at all. Amazing! I’ve had no chocolate bars and no lemonade, with no effort.
I’ve been walking several times with a friend and her dog, I’m checking labels and am more thoughtful about food and what I’m putting into my body. But, it’s not all consuming like a diet. I haven’t even wanted chocolate!
I’m thinking and planning more around eating but it’s not a big thing. I now have a better perspective and feel so much better about myself. I’m really pleased and liking myself more. I’m incredulous!

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
I feel very, very good. Since our session, I haven’t had a chocolate bar at all and it repulses me to go to the vending machine at work. I am really proud of myself that I’m not using the machine. I stopped at a petrol garage and didn’t buy any chocolate or a sausage roll. I now have healthy snacks instead.
In the afternoons, I don’t want anything to eat and the evening puddings have been replaced with yogurts. I’m feeling full on healthy foods.
I’m shopping for healthier foods and my partner has been very supportive with more home cooked meals.
My colleagues have noticed, I can’t believe the difference and I am a lot happier.

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT & EATING DISORDER
Having spent the best part of 6 years using food replacement packs every 3-4 months, in order to lose large amounts of weight (that I then put back on), I was exhausted. I was tired of the effect this bingeing and starving was having on my family life – never eating the same as my husband and children, hiding my packs from young eyes, obsessing about what I could eat and being unable to enjoy a takeaway or meal out.
Also, my social life was affected (lying and not being able to go out for a meal when the reality was that I was ‘on abstinence’), my finances were affected (packs must have cost thousands over the years) and my self-worth was at rock bottom. I loathed what I looked like, berated myself constantly for putting on weight (that I lost through not eating) and thought constantly about food, weight, how I looked, what people thought of me, what other people looked like, how jealous I was of slim people – on and on and on.
I had lost all spontaneity and joy – not just around food but also in relation to my whole life. I was tense, picky and controlling – generally very unsettled and no fun to be around.
I had tried a course of CBT approximately 3 years ago, but I felt I needed something where the onus was less on me being strong and disciplined in changing my thought patterns - I needed something other than being responsible for making changes to myself.
I e-mailed two hypnotherapists after narrowing down a number of websites and Margaret responded immediately (I never heard back from the second person!) At once, I felt that Margaret was kind, sympathetic and results orientated.
I felt nervous about my first session – but needn’t have been. We talked for well over an hour before hypnosis – this was a feature of our sessions - and I never felt rushed or required to keep within a time slot. Margaret always understood exactly where I was coming from and made sense of my inability to say something in 10 words, when 100 will do!
After the first session, I felt amazing – on top of the world! However, I knew I would need a few sessions and every one was worth it for bringing me to where I am now.
I feel totally different about myself, about food in general and my value as a person. The sessions became about more than my yo-yo dieting - we covered how I like to be in control, my anxiety about what people think of me, concern about letting people down and a general lack of confidence. Now, I value myself, I am nicer to be around, I am relaxed about food and don’t have the need to lose a certain amount of weight by a particular date.
I appreciate what I see in the mirror and can look at myself as a fit, healthy person who is a ‘good person’ – even if I don’t weigh exactly what I would like....and I don’t!
However, it is OK - really fine. I can slowly work at exercising more and eating sensibly and I see my health and fitness as a long term project – not something that has to be dealt with immediately by starving myself – and ultimately setting myself up to fail. I feel ‘normal’ – I have times when I eat too much – but I move on – it’s not the end of the world.
I will never, ever use food packs again – that is no way to live. I really feel that I have learned how to live again and it is totally down to Margaret. She is kind, reassuring, positive, patient and committed to success – and I miss my sessions with her very much! I would wholeheartedly recommend Margaret to anyone.
