"I was confident, spoke clearly and really did enjoy doing it. With Margaret’s help, I stopped dreading my wedding day and I enjoyed the best and most proudest day of my life."
In any 'performance' situation it can feel as though the spotlight is on you. No matter how well you prepare or study, you may find yourself blushing, feeling self-conscious and becoming tongue-tied. With anxiety levels rising, you can't think logically and your mind goes blank.
What you need in these situations is the emotional balance to present or perform to the best of your ability. Although complete relaxation in these situations may sound attractive, adrenaline is the fuel that will help you perform to your maximum potential; you do need a certain amount to give you energy and enhance your recall.
"The next day was the day of my first speech and I felt calm and confident before, and during, the talk. I have now spoken many times and do not see it as an ordeal. In fact, on occasions, I have looked forward to it."
How can hypnotherapy help? Hypnosis is great for re-training your brain to respond with the sort of emotional response that will help your performance. So, in an exam or performance situation, you need to feel calmness tinged with a little excitement to give you that extra edge. A little stress actually improves memory and recall.
Hypnotherapy will also help you feel more confident and enable you to present or perform without feeling terrified. Some of my clients have even told me they've gone on to enjoy public speaking!
